VibePay is excited to announce two major milestones: the appointment of Conor Tiernan as Head of Insights and the recent addition of £5 million in funding from existing investors. Conor, a former Klarna executive with a deep background in open banking and consumer insights, joins VibePay as the company continues to expand its impact in the real-time payment and data ecosystem.
As the former leader of Klarna’s Kosma and open banking initiatives, Conor brings a wealth of experience to VibePay. At Klarna, he was instrumental in launching new products and leading open banking efforts, which makes him a perfect fit for VibePay as we prepare to launch VibePay Insights—a new platform for brands to access real-time consumer insights.
Launching later this year, VibePay Insights will allow brands to understand customer spending behaviours and trends. The platform uses AI to analyse transactional activity, providing brands with actionable data that can be used within the VibePay ecosystem or offline. Conor’s expertise will be essential in establishing key partnerships and driving adoption for this powerful new tool.
Luke Massie, CEO of VibePay, shares:
"I first connected with Conor a couple of years ago while exploring Klarna's open banking capabilities for VibePay. Conor immediately grasped the potential of our Channels feature, which focuses on putting users at the center of their financial ecosystem. I’m thrilled to see how his expertise will help drive our mission forward."
Through features like VibePay Channels, we’re connecting consumers, sellers, brands, and financial institutions in one seamless ecosystem. With real-time payment capabilities, conversational commerce, and personalised media sharing, VibePay is creating a fully connected environment where users can transact, chat, and build relationships with brands and businesses.
Channels also offer a unique way for brands to reach engaged audiences. As account-to-account (A2A) payments become more commoditized, VibePay’s Channels help brands go beyond the basics, harnessing open banking data to drive meaningful engagement with their customers.
Conor Tiernan on joining VibePay:
"The power of open banking is about giving users control, which is at the heart of VibePay’s approach. I’m joining because I believe in VibePay’s vision and its community of users. I look forward to helping brands onboard and connect with VibePay’s engaged audience."
The recent £5 million funding from investors, including Nick Candy, underscores VibePay’s momentum. This funding boost brings VibePay’s total investment to £12 million and will support our mission to lead in the UK’s real-time payments and data sector. With growing revenue and the support of our investors, we’re well-positioned to make our mark on the future of Open Banking.
